Terms of Service
SkyLara Canopy Intelligence
Last updated: 25 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-25
1. About these terms and how you accept them
These terms govern your use of SkyLara Canopy Intelligence at canopy.skylara.co, including its pages, tools, analyses, learning content, community features and any related emails ("the Service"). The Service is operated by Start Tech Web Design LLC, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("SkyLara", "we", "us").
You accept these terms by ticking the acceptance box and pressing the button when you create an account, sign in, or first use the Service, and each time we ask you to accept an updated version. We keep a record each time these terms are shown to you and whether you accept or decline them — the version, date and time, your choice, and the IP address, browser, language and time zone used — whether or not you have an account. That record is evidence of our agreement with you. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. The general SkyLara Terms of Service also apply where relevant; if they conflict, these terms apply to Canopy Intelligence.
2. Information and learning only — not advice
Everything in the Service is general information for learning and self-review. This includes jump analysis, scores, charts, 3D views, turn and landing analysis, wing loading figures and bands, canopy and size comparisons, manufacturer data, weather and wind information, pattern tools, cheat sheets, the Academy, the 270 Hub, videos and links, leaderboards, and anything other users post.
- Not advice. None of it is professional, safety, coaching, training, medical, equipment or legal advice. It is not a recommendation, instruction or approval to fly any canopy, size or wing loading, to downsize, to attempt any turn or manoeuvre, to jump in any conditions, or to make any other decision.
- Not an authority. The Service does not certify skill, jump readiness, progression or equipment suitability. It does not replace canopy courses, qualified coaches and instructors, Safety & Training Advisors, drop zone rules and briefings, riggers, manufacturers' instructions, or the rules of your national skydiving association or aviation authority.
- Data can be wrong. Results depend on the files you upload and on GNSS, barometric and weather data that can be inaccurate, incomplete or delayed. Analysis is automated and can be wrong. Do not rely on it as the basis for any decision.
- We do not tell you what to do. Where the Service shows a figure, range, comparison, "reference" jump or example, it is describing data — not telling you to copy it.
3. Skydiving risk, assumption of risk and your own decisions
Skydiving, canopy piloting and high-performance landings are inherently hazardous. They can cause serious injury, permanent disability or death, including through equipment malfunction, weather, other traffic, and human error — yours or someone else's. You take part in these activities voluntarily and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, you accept those risks (assumption of risk).
You alone decide whether, when and how to jump and fly. Do not let a score, chart, leaderboard, another user's comment, a video, peer pressure, adrenaline or a wish to progress faster push you into anything beyond your training, experience, equipment and the rules and advice of your drop zone. Always follow your drop zone, instructors, coaches and the manufacturer of your equipment.
4. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old, and old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live. The Service is not for children.
- You may sign in with email and password, with Google, or with your SkyLara account. Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the jump files and information you upload. You give us a limited licence to store, process and display that content only to provide the Service to you and to anyone you choose to share it with. You confirm you have the right to upload it.
6. Acceptable use and community
Do not misuse the Service. In particular, do not:
- upload another person's data without their permission;
- attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours;
- interfere with, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the Service;
- use the Service for anything unlawful;
- harass, threaten, impersonate or spam other users, or post anything abusive, discriminatory or sexually explicit in profiles, messages or notes;
- encourage or pressure anyone to fly beyond their training, experience or equipment; or
- share another person's jump, message or personal details outside the Service without their permission.
Community features (profiles, follows, messages, review requests and leaderboards) are optional. Feedback from other users, including coaches, is their personal opinion and debrief context only — it is not instruction, a clearance or a replacement for your drop zone, instructors or Safety & Training Advisors, and we do not check or endorse it. Leaderboards compare consistency, accuracy, activity and helpfulness; a ranking is not a qualification or permission to do anything. You can block and report users; we may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
7. Third-party information and links
The Service shows or links to information from others — for example canopy manufacturers, weather providers, map providers, videos, articles and courses. We do not control it, and we do not guarantee that it is accurate, complete or current. Always check the original source and your manufacturer's current instructions.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available, but it may change, be interrupted or be discontinued. We will give reasonable notice of material changes where we can.
9. Fees
The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we will show the price and terms before you are charged.
10. No warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and all information in it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- SkyLara and its owners, staff and contractors are not liable for any injury, death, loss or damage arising from your skydiving, canopy flight or other activities, from equipment you choose, or from any decision you or anyone else makes using information shown in the Service or posted by other users;
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss of data, profit or opportunity; and
- our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid in the previous 12 months or USD 100.
What we do not exclude. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited — for example, where applicable law does not allow it, liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Release
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release SkyLara and its owners, staff and contractors from claims relating to your skydiving and canopy activities and to decisions you make using the Service. This release does not apply to liability described under "What we do not exclude" in section 11. If you live in California, you waive California Civil Code section 1542 to the same extent, and any similar law where you live, to the extent such a waiver is permitted.
13. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify SkyLara against third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, your content, or your misuse of the Service. If you are a consumer, this applies only where the law where you live allows it, and only to the extent the loss was caused by your fault.
14. Where you live — consumer rights
These terms are designed to apply in every country where the Service is used, including the United States, the European Union and United Kingdom, the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the United Arab Emirates. Consumer and other mandatory laws where you live may give you rights that these terms cannot remove or limit. Where that is so, those rights apply and these terms are read as limited to the extent needed. In particular:
- European Union and United Kingdom: you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and may bring proceedings in its courts.
- United States: some states do not allow certain exclusions, limitations or releases; in those states they apply only to the extent that state law permits.
- United Arab Emirates and other GCC countries: exclusions and limitations apply only to the extent permitted by the applicable civil and consumer protection laws, which do not allow liability for some harm to be excluded.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version date is shown at the top. When we make a material change, we will ask you to review and accept the new version before you continue using the Service; if you do not accept it, you may stop using the Service and delete your account.
16. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may end or suspend access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections 2, 3, 5 and 10 to 19 continue after termination.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the applicable federal laws of the United Arab Emirates, and disputes are subject to the courts of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, unless mandatory consumer law where you live gives you the right to other law or to bring proceedings in your local courts (see section 14).
18. General
- Severability: if any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, it is limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in force.
- Entire agreement: these terms, the Privacy Policy and the documents they refer to are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- No waiver: if we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Assignment: you may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a successor that continues the Service.
- Language: these terms are written in English. If we provide a translation and there is a conflict, the English version applies to the extent permitted by law.
